Bath time provides a wonderful opportunity to bond with your baby. Playing water games will help your baby associate water with having fun.
Here you can find some games to play with your baby while bathing:
Babies love to watch bubbles float in the air and then pop on their fingers or nose. Showering your babies with a lot of bubbles at once will wow them. Once your child becomes a toddler you can teach him/her how to blow the bubbles.
Your baby will enjoy listening to songs like "Splish Splash" and "Rubber Ducky" or any of your favorite songs.
Call his/her siblings and ask for their help, I am sure they will be glad to "help" you. Letting them participate in a happy baby bath and help their mom, will build their self confidence.
Smile and chat soothingly with your baby.
If your baby feels uncomfortable with water, slide into the bath with him/her. Babies love skin contact with their parents, being close to them encourage bonding and help them feel secure as they adjust to the sensation of the water.
Use plastic drinking or measuring cups to pour water on your baby skin. Babies love the cascading water and may try to stop the flow with their hands.
As babies get a little bit older they discover they can kick their feet and splash water all over. |
